ABOUT ME

Dear friends, my name is Andreas Tancred and I am a 25-year-old professional golfer from Stockholm, Sweden. Representing Viksjö Golfklubb located in the outskirts of the capital city. Together with my team, I am delighted that you have found your way to this site to follow me on my venture of reaching the worldwide tours.

When I was little, I dreamt of becoming a professional golfer and to be able to play the game that I love for a living. Ever determined and never willing to give up on the passion and fulfillment of enjoying the process to get better at this game. The everyday grind with sweat and tears, the wonderful people I have met along the way, and the exotic places I have managed to visit through this game is what makes it all worthwhile. That is what I love the most with the process, although it has been enduring times of challenge and hardship sometimes, but it would all be worth every second of it if I could reach the pinnacle of the game of golf to play on the global stage one day.

After I finished Upplands Bro-Gymnasiet High School, I got the opportunity to move to the U.S and attended Andrew College (2013-2015) and Lynn University (2015-2017). Yet, the most curious and scary thing I have ever exposed myslef too; however, it turned out to be the best years of my life. I broadened my golf network, made new dear friends, and go tot see a new part of the world. I earned my Batchelor of Scinece in Marketing/Business Administration at Lynn, while being a student-athlete on the golf team. It was a productive time that taught me great life lessons and prepared me well for the next chapter with my golf game, and I decided to turn professional in the Fall of 2017. Meanwhile, I can call myself a proud Lynn University Alumni.

I have played 2 seasons on the Swedish Golf Tour Future Series, combined with starts on the Nordic League, which is the best professional tour in the Nordic Region. I consider these events to be a great preparatory step to get ready for the best world tours. In 2018, I also tried to qualify for the Challenge Tour event at Katrineholms GK where I was only 1 stroke from making the field. In addition, I advanced from the Regional Stage in The Open Championship qualification to Final Stage where I was only 2 rounds away from playing in a Major Championship. In September, I entered the First Stage qualification for the European Tour at Stoke My Nayland in England, but I could not manage to move on to the Second Stage this time after missing by five strokes, so now I look forward to coming out even more prepared in 2019. I have been and knocking on the door to many big events and I know what these challenges are about and which parts of my game that needs to improve in order for me to go all the way in the future.
